Don Hale
Hall of Fame Award
The Don Hale IHFA Hall of Fame Award is presented in honor of Don Hale's investment and dedication in creating a strong hay and forage organization in Idaho. Don Hale, Blackfoot, was a valued leader in the Idaho Hay and Forage Association and played a major role in establishing the Idaho Hay Association, later known as the Idaho Hay and Forage Association. Don served as President of the Association more than once and for a number of years on the Board of Directors. The Idaho Hay and Forage Association established this award in 2011 to be presented annually to someone affiliated with the hay and forage industry in Idaho.

AWARD CRITERIA
Nominee must be a currently involved in the Idaho hay and forage industry.
You may only receive this award once. The award will not be presented posthumously.
Nominee should represent outstanding accomplishments the following:
Nominee’s name may be held for consideration until the IHFA Board of Directors selects to remove the name from future consideration. Names may also be removed should the name move from the area or because of death.

- Public relations and communication with peers, the public, and other contacts.
- Unique or innovative efforts in hay and forage industry.
- Contributions and activities in accomplishments.
- Environmental concern and stewardship.
- Legislative/regulatory involvement.
- Creativity demonstrated.
- Impact on industry.

NOMINATIONS
Any active member (producer or associate) may submit a name to the IHFA board of directors for consideration for this award.
The individual submitting the name for the award should include contact information for the name being recommended and accurate spelling and title for the individual, company or agency being nominated.
The Board of Directors will annually review the list of nominees and vote for one nomination to receive the award.

AWARD
The award will be presented at the Idaho Hay and Forage Conference with a brief paragraph read about the award winner.
A plaque will be awarded at the Idaho Hay and Forage Conference.
A letter indicating the award selection and name of award winner will be sent to the spouse of Don Hale.
